Emily is from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She completed her master’s degree in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutritional Science and Policy in Boston, and an undergraduate biochemistry degree prior to that at the University of Stellenbosch. With interests in epidemiology and public health, genomics, nutrition, and the gut microbiome, her work currently focuses on leveraging multi-omic health data to predict human health trajectories.
